Take a slow walk through the Old Town and around the Venetian Harbour for the boats, the lighthouse and free playgrounds and squares where kids can run. For a bigger splash, the Rethymno Mare water park is on the coast east of the city near Skaleta, about 7 km out. If you want marine life there is no aquarium in Rethymno itself; the Cretaquarium at Gournes (toward Heraklion) is a longer drive.
Περάστε το πρωί στη μεγάλη δημοτική παραλία, όπου τα ρηχά και ήρεμα νερά ταιριάζουν στα παιδιά, με ξαπλώστρες, ομπρέλες και εύκολα σνακ κατά μήκος της παραλίας. Κάντε έναν χαλαρό περίπατο στην Παλιά Πόλη και γύρω από το Ενετικό Λιμάνι για τα καΐκια, τον φάρο και τις δωρεάν παιδικές χαρές και πλατείες όπου τα παιδιά μπορούν να τρέξουν. Για περισσότερο νερό, το πάρκο Rethymno Mare βρίσκεται στην ακτή ανατολικά της πόλης, κοντά στη Σκαλέτα, περίπου 7 χλμ. έξω. Αν θέλετε θαλάσσια ζωή, δεν υπάρχει ενυδρείο στο ίδιο το Ρέθυμνο. Το Cretaquarium στις Γούρνες (προς το Ηράκλειο) θέλει μεγαλύτερη διαδρομή.
