Regulated restoration targets are about 12 hours in normal conditions and up to 48 hours in emergencies such as storms or fires. Water: in the Rethymno municipality water and sewage are run by ΔΕΥΑΡ, phone 28310 27777 (24-hour line), site deyar.eu, where outage and works notices are posted. Villages outside the municipality may be served by their own local water office. Power cuts on Crete are usually short and local; in summer heatwaves brief rolling cuts can happen when demand peaks.
