Hello RethymnoHello RethymnoThrough the summer the open-air Erofili Theatre, set inside the Agios Ilias bastion of the Fortezza above the old town, hosts concerts, theatre and dance under the stars. The anchor programme is the Renaissance Festival, organised by the Municipality of Rethymno every summer since 1987, which runs roughly from July into September with Greek and international artists. Other big nights also use the Fortezza, including the Rethymno Rocks festival (scheduled for 26 to 29 August 2026). Programmes are published each year by the Municipality, so check the official rethymno.gr agenda and buy tickets in advance for the popular shows.
Όλο το καλοκαίρι το υπαίθριο θέατρο Ερωφίλη, μέσα στον προμαχώνα του Αγίου Ηλία στη Φορτέτζα πάνω από την παλιά πόλη, φιλοξενεί συναυλίες, θέατρο και χορό κάτω από τα αστέρια. Βασικό πρόγραμμα είναι το Αναγεννησιακό Φεστιβάλ, που διοργανώνει ο Δήμος Ρεθύμνου κάθε καλοκαίρι από το 1987 και κρατά περίπου από τον Ιούλιο ως τον Σεπτέμβριο με Έλληνες και ξένους καλλιτέχνες. Στη Φορτέτζα γίνονται και άλλες μεγάλες βραδιές, όπως το φεστιβάλ Rethymno Rocks (προγραμματισμένο για 26 ως 29 Αυγούστου 2026).
